TOPIC: The research and facts are clear…Today’s law enforcement officers are under more stress than ever before!
Law Enforcement Officers face many types of danger as they serve and protect communities across the country. The profession has changed since the events in Ferguson and Baltimore. These, and other events, have brought more stress and trauma to officers across the nation. LEOs are thrust into situations and complicated circumstances by duty and not by choice. The stress and trauma are taking a toll and some officers have chosen to leave the profession. More officers die at their own hand than are killed in the line of duty.
From the home-front to the battle lines on the street, this class was designed to educate and encourage officers to reboot, reset, and begin to take care of themselves and each other. Agencies and officers must focus on officer wellness, safety, and building resiliency. Students will be provided with resources and the tools and skills needed to develop a personal plan to survive and thrive in this noble profession.
