TOPIC:
Criminal victimization knows no boundaries and can impact any person at any time. In the current cultural climate, with LGBTQ issues at the forefront, the victimization of these individuals adds a layer of complexity for those who investigate crime, prosecute, or provide victim services to these community members. An understanding of the distinct challenges that affect these populations will provide a knowledge base that will encourage cooperation, while also providing an approachable environment for LGBTQ victims/witnesses.
By use of print materials, videos, and exercises, this course will provide the attendee with the tools and information necessary to recognize unique issues of the LGBTQ communities and to respond to these victims in a culturally sensitive manner.
